ABOUT THE ART AND THE ARTIST
Amii is inspired by nature's shapes, structures and colours. She captures the natural light in her artworks, which result in visual resemblances to the stars, lightnings, fireflies, northern lights or glowworms. She uses a mixed media technique and works with light-sensitive photo paper. The artwork itself can only be created by the interaction of light and shadow.
The name Amii Aurora emerges from Aurora Borealis the natural phenomenon that can paint the night sky with unearthly, surreal colours. These lights can only be seen when it’s dark outside. So, at times one must go through darker times to see the light.
The values she carries at heart and which she aims to convey through her art pieces are balance, hope, joie de vivre and looking for the light-soaked miracles that life holds for us.
